As always, our goal is simple: help you build a more credible, more profitable brand with the right products, the right positioning, and the right support behind you

April Coffee of the Month – Rwanda Jarama (Cyiya Community)

Region - Cyiya Village, Nyamasheke District, Western Province, Rwanda

Grower - Smallholder farmers organized around the Murundo coffee washing station.

Altitude: 1700-1900 masl

Variety: Local Bourbon Varieties

Soil: Volcanic Loam

Process: Full Washed

Roast Level:  Medium (leaning medium/light to preserve the sweet, fruit notes)

This month’s coffee comes from the Jarama Washing Station in western Rwanda, operated by the Kivubelt group. Grown in the high-elevation community of Cyiya, near the Nyungwe Forest, this coffee benefits from rich volcanic soil, cool climate, and ideal growing conditions—producing some of the top lots in the region each year.

Kivubelt was founded in 2011 with a mission to improve both coffee quality and local livelihoods. Today, they work with over 500 smallholder farmers, providing training, fair pricing, and quality incentives—often paying up to 50% above local market rates for exceptional coffee.

This region is known for producing coffees with deeper sweetness and complexity, and this lot is a great example of that.

In the cup: Expect a smooth, layered profile with notes of peach, guava, brown sugar, tea-like florals, and a soft caramel finish.
